Discover Our Story

Zacatecas is one of largest honey exporters in Mexico. So its honey is surprisingly important. Nevertheless, for our surprise, it was not entirely known all over the country. In 2012, we began promoting the different honey harvests offered by this state all year long.

At first, harvests were sold under the name “Miel Orgánica Zacatecana;” however, last year it was branded and changed to Miel MOZ, and it has been sold by special orders and by different small businesses in Mexico City and its surroundings. Many people have become distributors of this high-quality product. Today, Miel MOZ also reaches the public through bazars that sell local, artisanal, and organic products.

It is one of our purposes to remain true among the years thats why we grow little by little and step by step our business. To guarantee quality, taste, no harm to nature and fair commerce.

What makes Miel MOZ so special?

fancyheadernegro

In first place, harvests vary according to the time of the year: for example, honey from seasonal flowers such as the aceitilla (Spanish needle), is only produced during the fall. On the other hand, the mesquite harvest is white because of the color of the flowers in the mesquite tree, and it is only produced during the winter, for it is a tree that can bear the state’s low temperatures.

Added to this, the beekeepers place the hives where only mesquite flowers can be found thus producing a single-flower honey, and according to the time of the year, the harvest can be very white or a soft yellow. This honey is different because it has abundant pollen, and its texture is very soft and smooth.

In the second place, MOZ harvests are single-flowered, which make their unique flavor possible. This flavor is also added by the flowers selected and the time of the year when it was collected.

Lastly, our honey is one of the few products with natural preservatives, which means that it will never perish…you could even collect it!
